I’m Thankful For My Service

“Service is its own reward.” I distinctly remember the night my mother spoke those words to both admonish and encourage me. You see, my immature 15 year old self has been complaining about the lack of recognition I received after putting in many hours on a church service project. I felt like I should have earned some sort of rich reward or at least lavish praise for the time and effort that I had poured into that project.
